![]() Can You Hear My Voice "We feel better about ourselves and learn more when we see ourselves reflected in our classrooms." This experiential workshop is for elementary school teachers to learn more about how we can create more inclusive learning environments. It offers activities which encourage communication, self-esteem, pride in our respective cultures, language and ethnic backgrounds - the foundation of all conflict resolution work. We explore the materials, resources and ways to create safety for our children to speak about their personal stories. This workshop offers suggestions
and ideas to implement immediately in the classroom. We know that diversity
work can be fun. Participants learn through cooperative singing, discussions
and modeling about the issues that are addressed. This workshop promotes
respect and appreciation for the many ways we look, feel and act.
Let's Help This Planet In this highly participatory
workshop Kim and Jerry creatively explore enduring environmental issues
such as waste disposal, global education and resource conservation. Workshop
participants sing songs, play and create cooperatively to create a vision
that challenges people to be peace-loving earthkeepers. Participants return
to the classroom with practical, ready-to-use ideas.
Ideas That Sing "Many of us have been told at a very early age that we cannot sing a note, draw, dance or express ourselves. Our ability to think and learn is stifled when these activities are not allowed to flourish." Participants in this workshop
sing, move, chant, create and play with a variety of creative hands-on
activities that reinforce musical concepts. In a relaxed atmosphere Kim
and Jerry present a fresh approach to exploring music as a springboard
into the world of ideas. Kim and Jerry use a thematic approach, Global
Journeys, Building Relationships, Imagination and Fun and Relaxation. Through
individual, cooperative and whole group work people discover ways to creatively
access ideas through music in the classroom - across the curriculum.
